We collect your email address and name when you register. We collect the ingredients, cuisine preferences, dietary requirements, and pantry items you enter while using PantryChef. We collect expiry dates you set for pantry items. We collect basic usage data (number of recipes generated) for rate limiting purposes. We collect feedback you voluntarily submit through our feedback form. We do not collect your payment card details — all payments are handled securely by Razorpay.
Your information is used to: provide the PantryChef service and generate personalised recipes via the Google Gemini AI API; manage your pantry and track expiry dates; send transactional emails including email confirmation, payment receipts, and password reset links; send expiry alert emails to Premium users when pantry items are approaching their expiry date; enforce usage limits on free accounts; respond to contact form enquiries; and improve the service based on aggregated usage patterns. We do not sell your data to any third party.
Your data is stored securely in Supabase (PostgreSQL database) hosted in the EU region, with Row Level Security enabled — meaning only you can access your own data. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit using TLS.
We use the following third-party services: Google Gemini AI to generate recipes (your ingredient inputs are sent to Google's API); Razorpay for payment processing (governed by Razorpay's privacy policy); Supabase for database and authentication; Vercel for hosting; and Resend for transactional and notification emails. Each service has its own privacy policy.
By creating an account, you agree to receive transactional emails such as email confirmation and payment receipts. Premium users also receive daily expiry alert emails when pantry items are close to expiring. You may contact us to opt out of expiry alerts at any time without affecting your subscription.
Your account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Saved recipes, pantry items, and feedback are retained until you delete them or request account deletion. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us via the Contact page.
You have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, and opt out of non-essential communications. To exercise these rights, contact us via the Contact page on our website.
